Since I am a music journalist, music is sent for me to critique...
Here are some interesting albums I recently found in my mail:
"Back In Denim" by DENIM
Originally in the seminal 80's band named FELT, Lawerence went on during the 90's with his band named, DENIM. Now, in the 2000's, Lawerence started his own label, West Midlands Records and his new group, GO-KART MOZART. While FELT was poetic and serious, DENIM is very silly and novelty. This debut DENIM album was deleted, but Cherry Red and West Midlands re-released it with absolutely no extras... The sleeve is different and interesting. Best cuts include "Middle OF The Road", "The Osmonds", "American Rock", and "I'm Against The Eighties".
"Ocky Milk" by MOMUS
This is the 3rd and final addition on the "Berlin" trilogy by Scot popman, Momus. Weird and novelty, "Ocky Milky" was reproduced by John Fashion Flesh (who also reproduced "OSkar Tennis Champion" and "Otto Spooky"). Like "OSkar Tennis Champion" and "Otto Spooky", "Ocky Milky" is not as easy. It does not have that instant appeal like some other Momus albums. Still, the die hard Momus fans and open-minded people will love this album. Best cuts include "I Refuse To Die", "Frilly Military", "Hang Low", and "Nervous Heartbeat"
"The Music Lovers' Guide For Young People" - THE MUSIC LOVERS
Wow! The Music Lovers return with an outstanding album. The beautiful album has very emotionally filled tracks that create a romantic vibe. They never let me down before and this album is another brilliant addition to their discography. Best tracks: "Habit", "The Music Lovers' Guide For Young People", "Hell Of A Kid", and "The Sea And The Sun"
